So, I've been on the Redwall subreddit on Reddit for a bit now, and been working with people there to develop a podcast. Our own administrator Matthias720, approached me and let me know about this community and I tapped him to be a part of the development process.
While I'm generally a veteran podcaster already, I've been working on making a podcast called "Recorder on the Wall" to go through the entire Redwall Franchise, books and cartoons. I'm proud to announce that we're very close to full fledged publication of the cast; and we're starting with the original first book, Redwall to start with.
We're going to do one episode per one "book" of each book in turn; and the animated series a few episodes at a time.
The plan is to cover the original novel, Mattimeo and perhaps Mossflower to set the stage of the greater world, and then go in chronological order after that.
One of the things I'm hoping to do is do community involvement, so have regular guests will be a thing; as well listening to your feedback as needed.
What we have right now is an Episode 0 - where myself, my normal podcasting partner, and Matthias720 discussed ideas for the show. So, we'd like your feedback and

This podcast isn't just a RACF thing, Grod. It is intended for the whole ROC, and should be rated for more of a broad audience.
Still. If the listeners are too young or immature for some adult themes or whatever really bad stuff made the podcast 13+, why are they reading a series as dark as Redwall?
Groddil, it isn't up to you to decide how this podcast is run, and trying to force things in a particular direction is hardly constructive feedback. If you have any other thoughts, please share them, but let this one go.

Just finished listening to episode 3. I thought the bit about adding insult to injury when Matthias drops the bell on Cluny was pretty funny ;D
So at the end, you talk a little about what exactly you want to do next in the series. Have you guys figured it out yet or did I sort of zone out there?
The Mattimeo episode's been recorded, or at least book 1; we're doing quality control right now for editing.
After Mattimeo, the plan was to start back at the start of chronological order and go from there, unless a better ideas comes forward.
We jump to the direct sequel to Redwall, that picks up 8 seasons later with Matthias and his absolutely bratty son, and with a villian that we've totally never seen before. Nope. Slagar's completely new. Jeremy couldn't be with us for this episode, and we have returning regular guest Drew, and new guest Kayde.

We've tossed around a few ideas, but here's the kicker - it has to be original music ot lead in, or something that is safely in public domain.

The final book of Lord Brocktree is read and digested with just Kayde (Drew and Wilder were out for this one). Not to post again without reason, but the cast has decided on when we want to do our first fanfiction special - this coming April 1st.
What I'd like from this community is suggestions; you can post them here, send them to me privately, etc. We're looking for fanfics that fall under the "so bad it's good" territory, and we're trying to best celebrate the community (and we'll happily talk about a few good ones too)
What we're not looking for - slashfics or general romance fics, ultra violent fics (more violent and/or viseral that the main book series, anyway) and too much self-promotion. If you want put forth yours, just know I'm going to be a little more discerning because the idea here is good natured fun at the community's expense as much as it is promotion of it.
I love how it's coming on April 1st! Feel free to rip anything by me to smithereens! It's all on the fanfic boards. If you're looking for something funny, there were a couple "forum fanfics" that happened which were half-meant to be jabs at fanfics as a whole and people loved them! Give them a shot if you're looking for some funny stuff!
