Title: Redwall Facebook
Post by: alexandre on August 07, 2016, 06:50:46 AM
I recently decided after searching through Facebook and not finding a Redwall page that I ought to create one.
https://www.facebook.com/Unofficial-Redwall-1029452940505788/
I was wondering if somebeasts would like to help me manage it.

i believe the problem with this for the members of the forum is how much personal information would be revealed.
Im sure people like the idea of a redwall facebook, but they also really like their secrets, such as their names :P

My one problem with this is Guests. @James Gryphon: Can we hide this topic?

I just don't want my IRL friends finding out about this forum, and discovering all the secrets and feelings and stuff I post on here xD

Aha, I have an idea on how to make this work! We make alt accounts with our usernames!

Making alternate facebook accounts with our usernames doesn't seem different than what we have here, just less space to work with. It feels like very few would support this idea even if the facebook group were a secret one. There is a Redwall Abbey Forum group on Steam, which has a useful chat feature, and on the topic of alternative social media, I'd like it if others supported bringing back Skype Saturdays.

you need a skype account and a mic and/or camera. then you add people to your contact list, amd you can chat witht them over text, or have video or voice calls

You are...wait that doesn't work! ;D

Always open to Skyping! Although, the only real purpose of Skyping for me was to hear other people's voices and see their faces! Now we have a thread for that! ;D

(Back on topic-ish)

But what about those of us who can't Skype? What do we do? Nothing?

Maybe it's just me, but I would like to do something we can all do.

I need to restart because all my puppies were eaten except one, which I (accidentally) drowned. :0

Is Wolf Quest the one where you're a wolf in Yellowstone Park? 'Cause if so I used to love that game. Somewhat predictably, I was a speedy, muscular, completely black wolf with yellow eyes. I only had one mate and three pups, if I recall correctly.

Having a social media outlet would be a good backup if another forum crash happened again.

That's what happened with the Skype group. It became instrumental in bringing us all back together.

The steam group would probably qualify too. And this forum TBH. If this one crashes, the webmaster (James) is actually still in contact with the forum, so it'd be much more likely that anything wrong with the backup forum would be fixed.
