Quote from: Datapad
Acolyte Furtis,

I trust your journey has been smooth. The Inquisition has received disturbing reports from the Evfraza Sector, specifically, that the headquarters for our organization in the Sector, based in Hive Zakara, Sahrafin, in the Korz system, has been attacked. The attacker, identified as a Bloodletter of Khorne, destroyed the Inquisition's office, killing most of the personnel stationed there, and managed to slaughter the Planet's Government before disappearing. Such a foul daemon could only have appeared as part of a summoning ritual; which we believe is linked to several other issues on Sahrafin. You, along with several other Acolytes, are being sent to the Evfraza Sector ahead of myself and the main Inquisitorial force to investigate exactly what has happened, and what must be done. You have been given a list of tasks to undertake, most of which will not require you to leave the Korz system. The local Arbites have seized control of Sahrafin since the fall of the government and attempted to maintain order; you will need to negotiate with them in order to learn more about your tasks, and to arrange passage offworld when needed. In the event that the Inquisition was targeted deliberately, your orders were encrypted more securely than usual. Due to the low number of Inquisition personnel, you will be taking on tasks from several of the Ordos, not just our own. Be careful, Acolyte. This is the frontier; few allies and hordes of Xenos. I will arrive soon.

Inquisitor Livia Drusilla.

New tasks have been added to the Missions.

With your lackeys following closely behind, you make your way to the elevator across the hangar and flash your documents, causing the guards to step aside. You crowd into the lift, which begins to ascend rapidly. You double-take slightly when the elevator door opens, revealing the aftermath of a warzone that looks like you've somehow ended up in the Underhive. Adeptus Arbites litter the fancy halls, while trash and bloodstains cover the floor. A charred sign points to the Inquisition's office, down a completely shredded corridor open to the outside world in places. Tape has been hastily erected to prevent passers by falling to their death, while the occasional annoyed noble tries, and fails, to pass the Arbites. A few more flashes of your documents allow you and your lackeys to pass by unnoticed, heading for the governor's chambers, where the planet's current leader has set up a base of operations. You trudge through the marble doorway, which has been bent quite severely out of place, and approach a tall, thin Arbite standing behind the desk.
"You in charge of the Arbites?"
"That I am. And you are?"
"Astilan Furtis, Inquisition."
"really bad stuff."
"Sent here to find out what's going on, and deal with the hive's bloodletter infestation."
"About time. We can't find the fucking thing, it just vanished into thin air after it slaughtered the planet's government. And now we have Orks to worry about, if any at all survive what's left of that ship colliding with the planet."
"We'll deal with that, too. I just need your help."
"Yeah? Speak."
"I need to be given free reign on Sahrafin if I'm to be able to find out who summoned that thing in the first place, and I need to bypass the travel restriction when the time comes."
"Done. I'll provide you with lodgings in the Hive, as well. You and your associates can use the dead Treasurer's chambers as a base of operations, so long as you don't interfere too much with how we're trying to maintain order. Leave my people alone, and you can do what you want."
You shake the Arbiter's large, gloved hand and follow one of his men into the corridor. The Arbiter shows you to the chambers of the former treasurer, which seem to have escaped damage, and are more than large enough to accommodate you, Tarrius, and your third lackey, Benedict. Before your escort leaves, he tells you of a strange clinic worth investigating in the Underhive, that reportedly deals in Cybernetics and other enhancements. He isn't sure whether or not it qualifies as tech heresy, but you should still investigate nonetheless. You order Tarrius to stay behind and organize the Treasurer's Quarters into a proper office, while you and Benedict return to the Upper halls.

You trudge back to the Elevator and take it down to the hangar, where you make your way towards the large trams and tunnels surrounded by crowds. Followed closely by Benedict, you manage to force your way through the crowd and secure a place on an outbound tram. After an uncomfortable, half-hour journey, you eventually find that your lackey is the only other passenger remaining on the tram. Five minutes later, you discover why. After emerging from a tunnel, you glance out the tram's window as a series of explosions rock the Underhive. Upon further inspection, the Arbites below appear to be locked in a stalemate with assorted citizens, Imperial Guards, and strange, cloaked figures. After leaving the tram, you are surrounded by Arbites, but a flash of your documents gets them to back off.
"Inquisition business, where's this Cybernetics Center I've been hearing about?"
"It's in this division, take a left once you leave the platform. It's on our side of the front lines, thankfully."
"I saw that. What's going on?"
"It flared up in a manner of hours, sir. This morning, actually, some of the people just started attacking us. The Imperial Guard have joined in, and we can't figure out why, or beat them back. Too many of them, dug in too far. We could use your help, if you have the time, sir. Whatever happened, it can't be good."
"I'll consider it."
You leave the Arbiters on the platform, heading towards the Cybernetics Center. As you approach, the proprietor takes one look at Benedict's Imperial Guard uniform and sighs.
"I've had it up to here! I've told you people too many times. What I'm doing isn't heretical, and I've got the warrant from the Adeptus Mechanicus to prove it!"
"We're not with the Guard. We're Inquisition. If this is a legitimate business, what are you doing in the Underhive?"
"Cheap. Large customer base. 'Course, they didn't tell me it was a fucking warzone."
"Let's say I need cybernetics. Let's also say that your warrant might be flawed. Would you provide me with free augments?"
"Love to, sir, but I need Thrones upfront to by the things. I can offer you discounted prices, for you only of course, but I can't offer freebies that I don't have."
"I see."
"Want a catalogue?"

"I'll be back."
"You know it."
You decide to find the leader of the Arbites and find out exactly what is going on. Rather than return to the Government Chambers, a local Arbiter points you to the commander of the Underhive forces, who had commandeered an abandoned Habstack.
"Arbiter. Astulan Furtis, Inquisition. Tell me what's going on down here."
The commander looks away from the documents he is studying and eyes you.
"This morning, we were given reports of citizens acting unruly. The local guards went to investigate, and we never heard from them. My men come down to see what's going on, and get set upon by civvies and Guard alike. No way to talk them down, and we don't know why they're doing this, or how so many civvies got ahold of weaponry. Something hereticals going on beyond those front lines, but I wouldn't know what."

EDIT: Replaced Deathwatch with a custom chapter I rolled up using some tables, and added a new Inquisition objective. New system for some objectives, too.

Lady Ashenwyte

Go to the remains of the Inquisition headquarters.
The fastest way to a man's heart- Or anyone's, in fact- Is to tear a hole through their chest.

Indeed. You are as ancient as the soot that choked Pompeii into oblivion, though not quite as uncaring. - Rusvul

Just a butterfly struggling through my chrysalis.

Groddil

You return to the Tram platform and catch the nearest tram to the Docks, where the elevator to the Upper Reaches of the Hive awaits. Your return trip is largely uneventful, and you soon find yourself outside the Treasurer's Quarters.
"Tarrius. Progress report."
"Good, sir. Gathering information on the tasks you- We've been assigned, tidying this place up, getting ahold of supplies. Shouldn't be long to go."
"Good."
You return to the corridor you passed on your first trip to the Upper Hive, which is now a precarious bridge over a seemingly endless fall. Arbiter tape flaps lightly in the wind from outside the Hive, but you and your lackey manage to cross without incident. The corridors on this side of the Upper Hive have also sustained heavy damage, including a blackened doorway with an unreadable plaque.
"Is this the Inquisition headquarters?"
A nearby Arbiter nods.
"Yes, sir. Be careful in there."
You step through the doorway, revealing a large, circular room, the far wall of which has a gaping, roughly-taped whole in it. Desks lie in splinters, while untouched skeletons and half-decomposed corpses litter the floor. Near the whole is the largest desk, obviously belonging to whoever was in charge of this Sector's Inquisition, although their corpse is nowhere to be seen. Another nearby door leads to the Inquisitors' quarters, which (while less damaged) is also filled with corpses and ransacked cabinets.

What do you do?

Lady Ashenwyte

Draw your pistol and explore the ruins, checking the corpses to see the manner of their death.
The fastest way to a man's heart- Or anyone's, in fact- Is to tear a hole through their chest.

You draw your Autopistol and begin to search the main office, while Benedict gives the quarters a closer inspection. You flip over a rotting corpse and investigate for the cause of death, which you discover immediately. The Inquisitor's head flops backwards, completely out of normal alignment.
"Snapped neck. Most likely due to high force, considering this wasn't stealthy whatsoever."
"Burn marks and cuts on the bodies in here, boss. Matches up with the Arbiter's story about a Bloodthirster."
You walk over to the hole in the wall.
"Large, about the right size. It either came in, or left through this hole."
"We'd best find out which one."
You continue your circuit around the offices, checking desks and corpses. The bodies have all died consistently, and most of the documents in the desks have been destroyed.
"Anything useful?"
"Not much, sir. I checked the cabinets, but they were mostly empty, or burnt to ashes. I found a couple of useful things, though."
The Guardsman pockets a fresh magazine for his Las-Rifle, handing you a small satchel.
"So we've found nothing of interest?"
"No sir."
You return to the large desk of the High Inquisitor, and inspect it more closely. An inferno pistol lies just underneath the desk, but has been damaged beyond use. You eject the magazine for future use, and tuck the ruined gun into the satchel regardless. You rifle through the drawers of the desk, but find nothing aside from charred, shredded, paper. After searching most of the drawers, you discover a half-destroyed, but still readable, slip of paper.

"Pretty unintelligble. Looks like this is all we're getting out of this place, though. The Bloodthirster sure fucked us up."
"Any way to say yet, boss? About whether it entered or left?"
"Hard to say. It could even be both. No other place it could have left through."
"It has to have come from inside somewhere, though. Right? Someone has to have summoned the thing, why else would it be here?"
"That's what we're trying to find out."
Benedict continues to riffle through desk drawers with no success, before letting out a triumphant grunt.
"What?"
"Datapad, sir. Locked by Acolyte Churlon Anders."
"Don't know him. Could be useful."
"Agreed. We should take what we found to Tarrius. He can try and piece all of this really bad stuff together while we keep investigating elsewhere."
