We are being hunted down, weeded out, not even safe in our own homes, fearing for our very lives. Why? The royal family is afraid of us thats why. They are afraid of what we can do, of who we are, what we could become. I never asked to be this way, I never wanted it, but I have it just the same. Some call it magic, some call it a gift, but you know what I call it? A freak of nature, that's what we are, unnatural.

North of Mossflower near where Marshank once stood now lies the kingdom of Trecor, as it has been for generations now. Trecor is ruled by the royal family Azocar, a family of wolves that came down from the high north and conquered the land. In exchange for the peoples loyalty and cooperation the wolves helped make Trecor thrive. It went from a spattering of ragtag villages and clans barely able to scrounge a living for themselves, to a lad with great cities and towns, farming villages, and an active trade economy. As far as conquests go this one was not to bad.

Time passed however and the first kings died off. Their children intermarried with arctic foxes and and the blood line was stained. The new kings became more and more tyrannical and over time there grip tightened. Taxes grew and the soldiers who roamed the street where no longer seen as keepers of the peace. The Royal family cared more about their throne then their people and things where only getting worse.

Only now things are starting to change. Strange occurrences have been reported, young beasts with supposed magical powers. The royal family is getting anxious. They sent out soldiers to find these beasts and bring them in. They brought in a young mouse who had made it rain, and no one has seen her since. She was only the first. Soon after that a decree was sent out that any and all magic was to be outlawed and if anyone was seen using it they were to be reported immediately.

No one understands what is happening to us and none of us know how to stop it. We can try but we can’t hide it forever sooner or later you will be discovered. Then they will come for you, In your home, on the streets, at work, or in the middle of the night, they will come for you. Several of my friends have disappeared already and I don’t want to be next.

Alright so I have been mulling over a magic RP for a while and finally sat down and worked one out. So here it is.

About Magic
So if you have read the introduction you should have a pretty good idea of what’s going on. Most magic users are young good beasts who have just discovered that they have this power. Your character is not going to be able to control or use their magic in any skilled way especially at first.

The kind of magic that will be use in this RP would be best described as thought taking physical form. The form it takes is different for each person and usually reflects their inner personality. The magic is controlled with focused thought and emotion, and often can been hard to suppress or control especially when they are in a highly emotional state.

The form the magic takes will reflect your characters innermost personality, who they are in the purest form (Some people pretend to be one thing when they really aren’t). Water, light, shadow, ice, or stone. (Note; this is not bending. you do not need a source, all forms of magic are self sufficient) (If you need help coming up with a form for your character feel free to PM me or discuss it with the other players here.)

(1) Sylest: The capital city located at the mouth of the Broadstream on the east coast and home to the Royal palace. It is also where the Royal fleet is docked but they won’t be very important in this story

(2) Boral: A trading city directly on the rout from Sylest to Mentas (A common trading rout). Goods and people are ferried up and down the Broadstream from Boral to Sylest and back again.

(3) Mentas: A merchant port. Ships come there to sell rare merchandise and strange food in exchange for Trecor's goods. 

(4) Small Fishing village: The village that Archel mentioned that got iced in.

(5) Alarie's Farm

(6) Patrick's farm

The Hill Country: a rural aria populated mostly by craftsmen, Known for it's fine art and skilled craftsmen. There are carpenters, weavers, painters, smiths, and potters. Most of what they make they will sell in Sylest where they will pay alot for a good piece of work allowing for most of them to become rather successful.

The Royal Palace: Located in the city of Sylest right on the coast facing the eastern sea, very close to where marshanke once stood.

Noonvale: A place only known about in roomer and myth, It is a common belief in these times that it still exists and if one could only find it they would be safe from the kings guard.

Rules

Rules
-Alright so the basics no PP, no controlling other people's character or making it so that there is no possible way for them to avoid your attacks (If you want to do something like this first talk it out with the characters owner)
-No GMing, this is especially important in a magic RP because it is very easy for things to get out of hand. The character in this RP don’t know how to control their magic or even what they are capable of. This doesn't mean that you can’t have extreme magical outbursts induced by emotional break downs, just make sure that it is out of control and just as likely to hurt your character or their allies as it is to hurt the enemy.This kind of reaction however would only be brought on by extreme emotions and should not be overused. 
-No mind magic, no character can read peoples thoughts or use the “jedi mind trick,”
-No telekinesis.
-No bending. this is not avatar. (You can bend but only if your magic made the element that you are bending, like if your form is water you can’t clear a dry path over a river or make it stop raining, unless you made it start raining or created the river in the first place.)
-You are not allowed to be skilled at magic. Period.  the best anyone can get at it (at least in the beginning) is the ability to suppress it better than the others. No one really understands how it works yet.
-If you are playing a magic user then your character must be younger than 16 human years.
-No one can play a Wolf character or a Wolf fox. At least for now

If you are playing a magic user then they must be younger than the equivalent of 16 human years. They can be from any race or walk of life except for Wolves of half Wolves.

You can choose to also play one of the guard. There is one position open for the Captain of the Guard he will be the one in charge of carrying out the Royal families decrees and hunting down the outlaws (This is a very important character and I would like someone with a little RP experience to play that part. I would also like them to be able to get on often enough and know that they are not going to drop out). As for the character I would prefer that he be a pur arctic fox or a white ermine other than that it is all up to you.

Appearance: Erich is a typical ermine, though slightly taller than normal. He wears the blue tunic of an officer, and has a steel chestplate. He carries a steel saber, and a spear.
Personality: Erich has never liked magic beasts, and sees them as a threat to civilized society. He is very loyal to the king, and believes that the only way to maintain order is to eliminate magic for good.
History: He was born into a family with a long history of serving the king. His family has been divided over the magic issue, and Erich has disowned two of his brothers for sympathizing with the magical beasts.
Other: Aspires to one day be the captain of the guard.

Personality: Loyal and kind, he strives to uphold the values of the ancient heroes.
History: As the older brother of Erich, Harald was a trusted member of the city guard. After a disagreement with Erich over the treatment of magical creatures, he fled to the swamps, hoping that he might find peace in that uninhabited wilderness.
Other: Harald's youngest brother, Jormund, also sympathized with the magical beasts. Unfortunately, he died of sickness shortly after the outbreak of the magic war.

Personality: Easily angered and with the typical shrew temper makes him hard to get along with. Although he is rough he can be kind and comforting when he needs to be.

History: Spending his entire life working with his father as a blacksmith has granted Arron incredible strength and a good eye for metal workings. His mother and brother died of a terrible disease when he was still very young.

Appearance: This and tall, with golden brown fur. Canny often wears a dark blue coat over a simple linen shirt. In the simple cloth belt he wears around his waste, Canny has a scimitar.
Personality: Keeps to himself, not wanting to make friendships. He maintains a warm, jolly exterior, but really is a calculating creature, who would rather further his own goals. However, he would protect anyone he truly viewed as a friend with his life.
History: He grew up, never wanting to talk and preferring to learn. Canny's refusal to socialize when he was younger led to him struggling to form attachments. At 14 years old, he left his home and went to Sylest.

Appearance: Rangi is often the tallest creature in the room when he enters. He is also the most dangerous looking, with a number of tattoos crossing his face.

. Rangi often wears a necklace studded with shark teeth, which he hunted in his native lands before travelling North. He always wears a thick, feather filled jacket he made, as he is not used to the colder temperatures, being used to the heat of his island homelands. He wields a Taiaha: Taiaha
Personality: Though often perceived as a unintelligent brute, Rangi is actually quite bright. However, while he connects the dots very well, and has many bright ideas, he struggles to think in a outside of the box way. He struggles to be serious, often leading to arguments with other beasts. He tends to be argumentative, but is extremely loyal to anyone who befriends him.
History: Born on a tropical island and raised by literally the whole village, Rangi grew to be the pride and joy of his village. He could fish, he could fight, and he could build canoes like no other. One day this came to the attention of the king of the island chain, and he was recruited into a powerful navy. Unfortunately, his canoe got blown off course one day, and he ended up in Trecor, where he soon found that he was trapped in a dangerous spot, not wanting to displease his new king, but not wanting to be a enemy of the magic users. Even now the Otter debates between the two sides, leaning towards the king, but not certain he can try to hunt magic users.

Personality: She can't be described as timid, but she won't rush into things rashly. She likes being around other creatures, especially if she's treated well. Sel has a very sunshiny personality around those she trusts.
History: Born to a poor family in the poor sector of Sylest, Sel was thrown out when it was discovered she was blind. It was thought that her one white eye would bring even more misfortune on the family. She was raised by an old street rat to be a pickpocket despite her disability.
Other: She knows about her magic, but hasn't told anyone or even tried to use it.

It has a tabard with the Bane family crest on it which is an eagle fighting a wolf. (Think Aragorn's armour in ROTK). He uses a poleaxe and a short sword for close combat. He has a scar on one eye and he frightens most beasts. He tucks a golden eagle feather by his ears everyday.
Personality: He is mostly silent and speaks only when he has to. He may seem cold on the outside, but on the inside he cares deeply for his loved ones and for the innocent.
History: He was born into the family of Bane the mercenary fox. His mother threw him out of the home when he was naught but a babe in favour of his older brothers. He was adopted by a golden eagle and when the golden eagle left, he gave him one feather to remember him by. He looted a set of armour from one of his older brothers and found a baby pine marten and raised her.
Other: Every night, he looks into the moon and hopes that the golden eagle of his childhood would come back one day.

Personality: She is kind and caring, and hates to leave anyone in trouble. Whenever there is cruel injustice, her senses leave her and pure magic leaves her. She is untrained and her magic comes out at any moment. Her magic comes out in the form of water jets.
History: She was abandoned and was found by Bane II and trained as a healer. She and Bane II came to the city of Sylvest to offer some healing services and a place to rest after travelling.
Other: She knows she has magic and she is afraid of it.

Appearance:  His fur is primarily midnight black, but his underbelly, highlights, and a couple of birthmarks sported on his face and right side are silver to a fault. His eyes are also silver, though their hue is tinted with a slight blue. He wears a scarlet tunic with a hood, this tunic is fringed in dark yellow, and patched in forest green (He often jokes about looking like a jester growing some foliage), his dark grey boots are thin, but sturdy, and the heal can be "ripped" off if bare-furred feet are preferable. he also wears darker grey trousers. On top of this, he can almost always be seen carrying a satchel, carrying only he knows what at any given time.

Personality: Quite, calm, and collected. Raised to treat others with respect and consideration, he cares about those around him, but you wouldn't know it from the passive, sometimes stoic demeanor he has... Still, there always seems to be something hidden behind what could very well be considered a facade.

History:  His fur color alone caused a lengthy investigation. Having satisfied the officials, he continued on with his life under a strained surveilance. Other than that, there's not much to say, he works for whoever needs a hand, running various errands whether they be labor, trip, or even practical. His family has lead a steady life, even with the harsh government. Despite this, they all dislike what's happened, and wish for the "old days."..... Saurrel also happens to be the only one that knows about his gift, one that he treats like described, cherishes, and secretly yearns to control and use.

Other: He had once considered signing to join a militia or man-at-arms position, but the corrupt system turned his priorities elsewhere. Even so, he watches them, seeks to learn the usage of a weapon, how to defend himself and others.
He's always been fast, and tries to take in everything around him. His many errands have lead to him becoming something of a jack-of-all trades, master of none sort of beast, at least for his age. (obviously, he hasn't had the time to get around to too many things, but he's done more than his fair share)

Appearance: He's a fairly normal looking ferret, except for his head which is off-white everywhere except for the back of his ears which are the customary black. His eyes are white, but there's an infectious black ink-like blotting held within. Despite his age, he's fairly tall and well-built, a formidable beast for sure. He wears a faded red tunic and dark, earth brown trousers, with a grey cloak to go over. He carries a couple of broken metal shards for a no known reason, as well as what appears to be a small wooden rod, smooth, made to be held like handle, but with no purpose.

Personality: Cold, sharp, quick to snap both audibly and in temper. He doesn't "play" well with others, though Houdin seems to be the exception... Iron sharpens iron apparently. Once his mind is made up, there's no stopping him, or even getting in his way.

History: He knows nothing about where he was born, or who he was born to, but he doesn't care. All he knows is Houdin, that he hates restrictions, and loves to show how strong he is. He's no brute though, he was born tall, as well as sly. His cunning is partially due to being raised by his fox friend, but he was always smart.

Age: 24 1/2

Affiliation: Sciph

Appearance: His fur is is normal, but he has black and red tattoos running along the entire right half of his body. He's Lithe, well-toned not the most muscled, but more than strong enough to hold his own. His eyes are nut brown, almost wood-like in appearance. He wears a heavy smock, fog grey in color, and black trousers. His boots are hard leather, and dark brown. While his right arm only has a short sleeve and a bark gauntlet, his left sleeve is thick, long and leather-shielded, though the leather has small, explained holes dotting the length of it. His weapons consist of a long, thin dagger, and a single bladed axe. On top of all this, he carries a piece of wood similar to the one that Sciph carries.

Personality: Sly, secretive, he'll talk openly, but he leaves you guessing about what he says. He has no apparent motivation, he doesn't seek money or friends, power or fame, he just goes. He's found a sort of kinship with Sciph, and seems perfectly fine with the latter's sometimes abrasive manner.

History: He was a wanderer, and still is, though he thought he'd be a loner when he started. His trek started when he got bored of his small hometown, the gardens and small houses, shops, and palisade. He wanted to find something exciting, or at least something at all. One of the few things he refuses to speak about is just where he came upon Sciph, and just how long they've been together. Rest assured, it's been the majority of the ferret's life, and the fox's interest in him seems to dig a little deeper than the eye can see.

Name: Haenrok.

Species: Sea otter.

Magic: Rock, stone.

Appearance: Haenrok is pretty typical for a sea otter, noticeably larger than the river species and bearing the usual dark brown fur. His eyebrows slightly hang over his eyes a bit like hoods, giving his face a hardened look. While this does make him seem cold and harsh, he often breaks the stony appearance of his face with a friendly smile. His clothing consists of a gray half-sleeved tunic with thick sharkskin sewn to it on his chest, shoulders, and back. While it does not give much protection, the sharkskin does make Haenrok's clothes durable and tough. He carries a decent-sized pack that contains miscellaneous items for survival, and wears a black eel skin belt.

Personality: The sea otter is pretty easy-going in that he enjoys going where he pleases, but when he sets his mind to something it takes a lot of effort to change his resolve. While Haenrok enjoys being alone, he also is pleased by the company of others, and he can be rather sociable if he wants to be. He is usually happy, if not showing it in his facial expression, then at least on the inside, but he is stubborn and fierce when roused. He holds back a hot temper sometimes.

History: Haenrok came from an island in the western ocean, and as soon as his parents let him he took a small boat and went sailing. He had been away for a few years now, but he knew his parents did not mind; both of them had done the same thing, apparently, and had encouraged his adventurous spirit in addition to their warnings not to grow up too quickly. In the time spent away from his homeland, Haenrok had learned much in the way of survival, among other things. He lost his axe not long ago, and has been wanting to get another one for a while.

Other: Haenrok has slight Bloodwrath, nothing compared to what the badgers can get, but it is still dangerous to his enemies. . . and himself. He is traveling in close proximity of Trecor.

Appearance: not very strong (physical strength) wears a light blue tunic with firm, comfortable sandle type shoes,with a leather belt around her waist, in which she likes storing her few (currency items) and a short knife. Her eyes are a bright blue, and she tends to chew her lip when nervous or scared.

Personality: patient, likes wandering away from family, determined but bored easily, kind, but can speak fire at enemies, knows loads of healing technuiques from other people she has met and also loads of other random information.

History: Family are traders and travel around the area of the king. she is an only child and travels around with her family and an otter (the leader) another mouse family whom she is very close to, and a small band of hedgehogs. When she first discovered she had magic, was when her best friend's little sister had died from a disese and Cassidy had caused a small whirl wind to upturn the cart when she heard the news. And it was a big loaded heavey cart, mind you. Luckily she was alone at the time, except for her mother who had told her the news, and is the only one who knows. Her best friend's name is Violet and they spend most of their time togeth, exept for when Cassidy needs a walk, and she respects that.

Other: has a very bad sense of direction, even though she goes all most everywhere she gets lost.... a lot.

History: he's served and his family has served in one way or another to the king for several generations now

Appearance: Cordan is a well-built otter with tan fur with a white patch over his right eye. He has sea-green eyes. When not in a Guardsman's uniform, he usually wears a light blue tunic belted in brown with a grey cloak. He carries a dirk and a rapier in scabbards. When in uniform, he wears the Guardsman's tabard over a steel breastplate, a blued steel helmet and a thick purple cape in his position as Squad Captain.
Personality: Cordan is a courageous but deep-thinking otter- his prospects were equally good to be either a scholar or a warrior. He is not very social, but very loyal to his friends- once he gains them. He is compassionate and concerned, but withdrawn.
History: Cordan is a streamdog from the southern reaches of Trecor. He was studious in following his choice career: Imperial Guardsman of Trecor. He became skilled in swordplay, and once he was grown, traveled to Sylest to enlist. He managed to gain an appointment as a junior commissioned officer only after an official mistook a sheet of recommendation for a bribe. Since he was appointed Squad Captain, he has become disgusted with the corruption and extortion within the ranks of the Guards. He has heard tell of arrests of youngbeasts for "magic", and is beginning to doubt the establishment. He doubts the magic's existence, suspecting the government of an ulterior motive. Regardless, he came hear to protect the citizens of Trecor, not persecute them- magic or no.

Appearance: Brenn is slight, with pale silvery fur and laughing blue eyes. He wears a simple tan tunic with a hood and a rope belt. He carries a bow and arrows and a long, slim dagger, which he is expert at throwing.
Personality: Fun loving and carefree, Brenn is simply loving life. He's not particularly social, but he can strike up a conversation with anyone. He won't leave anyone in a pinch, as he is a kind person, but he will rag them mercilessly for it afterward- all in good fun, of course!
History: Wanderer and outcast for longer than he can remember, Brenn is free and unattached and that is the way he likes it. He has an uncanny talent for getting into and out of scrapes, and has been in sticky situations too many times to count. He's wandered over to Sylest in the course of his adventures simply because life took him that way.
Other: He doesn't know he has magic, he can't imagine his abilities as being anything but good luck and squirrel skill. He would be delighted to find out, though. Just think of what he could do...

Personality: Kind and caring, quiet. Likes to dance and sing, but usually when by himself.
History: Lives in Sylest with both of his parents. His father is a carpenter and his mother works in a floral shop. No one (not even him) knows about his abilities yet. His father wants him to eventually be one of the palace guards, and bought Arden a sword for when he was one. Arden has become a familiar face around the barracks.
Other: Arden has a small golden harp that he saved up for himself. He likes to play it and deep down he wishes he could become a bard, but his shyness prevents him from playing in public. He also does not want to dishonor his father's wishes.

Appearance: Dawn is a white weasel with a plain cyan colored tunic. She wears a short cloak of a slightly darker shade of cyan along with plain brown sandals. Dawn sometimes wears a brown sun hat. Her weapon is a dirk with a simple gray hilt, sheathed at her hip. She wears a thin brown belt.
Personality: On the outside, Dawn is calm and patient. She actually has a lot of problems and and stress, but she tries to push them away from her thoughts and keep a clear mind. She's rather quiet, but will talk if she wants to.
History: Dawn ran away at age 11 from abusive parents. She has learned how to take care of herself and has lived on the streets ever since. Her parents were neither rich or poor. She was always a quiet child, not daring to talk anyway because her parents would lash out at her.

Personality:Sweet, kind and loyal, but with a bad temper. Sarcastic and a little sassy, Rayne can be a little difficult to like at times. She doesn't trust others easily, either, yet when she does trust you, you've gained a good friend.
History: Rayne pretty much lives on the streets, her family having cast her out when they realized that she was an illusionist. Her family is well-to-do  (Not rich, but most definitely not poor), but not very important, nor widely known.
Other: Rayne's illusions usually pop up when she's feeling something very strongly. The squirrel is also terrified of her magic.

He wears a hooded grey tunic and has leather bracers dyed grey. He has a short sword.
Personality: Scath is generally very abrasive and rude. He is easy to anger and quick to resort to violence. He does, however, care for those that are close to him and would do anything to protect them. He is very intelligent and good at thinking on his feet
History: Scath lived a fairly average life until one day he came home to find his parents murdered by bandits and his younger siblings about to go the same way, he let out a scream of rage and passed out. When he came to, everyone in the room was dead including his siblings, he had hazy memories of black spikes and tendrils coming off himself. Realising it was his fault, he left that day and tried to shake off all of his friends lest the same thing happen to them, one however was particularly difficult to shake...

Personality: Adal is quite friendly with those he trusts but he is not very trusting. He maintains an amiable personality but not so much as to encourage people to form connections. He is quite serious but likes a little bit of silliness now and again.
History: Adal was Scath's friend before he left home. Adal refused to abandon his friend and was an orphan anyway so he din't have any qualms about leaving anyone behind, he went with Scath and never looked back. In time, he came to learn of Scath's magic and the reason for his departure but he refused to be scared off. The two are now travelers living in a stolen tent.

He is determined and believes that what he is doing is right. He dose his job not only for the loyalty of the King but to protect his family.
History: His family has been in league with the Royal family for generations His father had been the Captain of the Guard before him. However Archel did not get the title by his blood, he worked hard for his rank and position and gained the trust and respect of the royal family without the help of his father.

On her brow she wears a silver circlet with a moonstone embedded in the front.
Personality: Sly, clever, attentive, careful, materialistic, persistent, ambitious, self serving, quiet, wize.
History: The queen of Trecor, Wife of Osullad, and mother of Rhima and Pheidon. She was originally the wife of Osullad’s older brother but she had no love for him. When he was killed she willingly and gratefully married Osullad.

History: Spending his entire life working with his father as a blacksmith has granted Arron incredible strength and a good eye for metal workings. His mother and brother died of a terrible disease when he was still very young.

Personality: Keeps to himself, not wanting to make friendships. He maintains a warm, jolly exterior, but really is a calculating creature, who would rather further his own goals. However, he would protect anyone he truly viewed as a friend with his life.
History: He grew up, never wanting to talk and preferring to learn. Canny's refusal to socialize when he was younger led to him struggling to form attachments. At 14 years old, he left his home and went to Sylest.

Personality: She can't be described as timid, but she won't rush into things rashly. She likes being around other creatures, especially if she's treated well. Sel has a very sunshiny personality around those she trusts.
History: Born to a poor family in the poor sector of Sylest, Sel was thrown out when it was discovered she was blind. It was thought that her one white eye would bring even more misfortune on the family. She was raised by an old street rat to be a pickpocket despite her disability.
Other: She knows about her magic, but hasn't told anyone or even tried to use it.

       Entropy would be something close to telekinesis, that or fire, the definition I was looking at wasn't very helpful. Faiy, is there a character limit? Because I've got so many characters in my head (all squirrels of course, go figure), but it's hard to rest on just one.

EDIT: Nevermind, Entropy is decay, but I'm not sure how fair or logical that would be.

That was sorta what I meant, just randomness. I planned for his magic to be unpredictable, possibly being really powerful, or not doing anything at all. Usually the latter.

Personality: He is mostly silent and speaks only when he has to. He may seem cold on the outside, but on the inside he cares deeply for his loved ones and for the innocent.
History: He was born into the family of Bane the mercenary fox. His mother threw him out of the home when he was naught but a babe in favour of his older brothers. He was adopted by a golden eagle and when the golden eagle left, he gave him one feather to remember him by. He looted a set of armour from one of his older brothers and found a baby pine marten and raised her.
Other: Every night, he looks into the moon and hopes that the golden eagle of his childhood would come back one day.

History: She was abandoned and was found by Bane II and trained as a healer. She and Bane II came to the city of Sylvest to offer some healing services and a place to rest after travelling.
Other: She knows she has magic and she is afraid of it.
